The making and repairing of musical instrumentsModern instruments | Historical instruments During the making and repairing of musical instruments we strive to use the present knowledge of their composition, while at the same time we use classical procedures that are close to the production style of old master violin-makers. Ing. Pavel Celý has long been studying the social, cultural and production conditions of the violin-making in the 18th century. The method of production, therefore, could be called "technological archaeology." Apart from gathering raw materials, we work exclusively by hand working the wood with the tuning of boards being done without a tone generator or any other technical aid. The preparation of the material for instrument making and the preparation of varnishes is all done in the workshop. |
